The Black Canyon of the
Gunnison National Park is located in western Colorado.
The Black Canyon is a deep gorge carved by the
Gunnison River. It is so small that only little sunlight reaches
the ground and the walls look therefore dark grey to black At Chasm
Overlook the depth is 1,820 ft (555 m)
at only 1,100 ft (345 m) between both Rims of the Canyon, at Warner Point the
depth is 2,722 ft (829 m).
Der Black Canyon of the
Gunnison National Park liegt im westlichen Colorado.
Der Black Canyon ist eine tiefe Schlucht, durch die
der Gunnison River fließt. Er ist so schmal, dass nur sehr
wenig Sonnenlicht bis auf den Grund fällt, was die Wände dunkelgrau bis schwarz
erscheinen lässt.
Am Chasm Overlook-Aussichtspunkt erreicht er eine Tiefe von 1,820 ft (555 m) bei
nur 1,100 ft (345 m)
zwischen den oberen Rändern der Schlucht, am Warner Point ist die Schlucht 2,722
ft (829 m) tief.ef.
